Re:zero is a popular anime series that was produced in 2016 and 2017. It is based off of a manga series with the same name, created by good!arm manga artist tribe. The Re:zero light novel series was later produced by Kadokawa Books.
The story follows a normal high school student named Natsuki Subaru who gets transported to another world. When he arrives, he finds out that he has to restart his life from zero, and none of his past memories or skills will carry over.
Unfortunately for Subaru, when he gets transported to this new world, he finds out that he has to make some tough decisions that lead to bad ends. Along the way, he meets new friends and enemies as he tries to find a way back to his original world and save it from destruction.
This article will be discussing the truths of Re:Zero’s fourth season, Truth of Zero.
The truth behind the death of Subaru
As we saw in the third season, Zero was the one who killed Subaru. In a twisted version of Subaru’s world, where he didn’t exist, she killed him and took his place as the hero.
In her world, she was the only one who could have saved him. He had no chance at survival without her help. She tried to warn him about Rem being a witch, but he ignored this and got killed for it.
She feels awful about this and takes full responsibility for his death. She only wishes she could have warned him so he could have escaped and survived! She tells everyone that it was her that killed him, not Rem. No one believes her though…
In the end, everyone starts to accept that Rem is the killer, which breaks down her spirit even more. She thinks about killing herself but decides against it at the last minute.
The connection between the two characters
It seems that the connection between Felt and Reinhard is something that will be expanded upon in the future. Although this is not confirmed, it seems that Reinhard may have a past with the Vollachia royal family.
The evidence for this is that he hesitated when he was asked if he was from Vollachia. He also mentioned a princess, which is part of the royal family.
He also mentioned having a friend who died, and it seems like he might have known about his ability before his death. It will be interesting to see how this connection plays out as the story continues.
There was also mention of how Reinhard handled things differently than usual after his friend’s death, which may hint at something more serious than just a friend.
Who actually killed them?
The biggest reveal of this season was who actually killed Rem and Ram, and almost Subaru himself. It turns out it was Beatrice, a girl who is an apprentice to Roswaal, the man that hired Subaru to investigate the murder.
Subaru and Beatrice have a strange relationship that borders on friendship. Although she denies it, Beatrice seems to care about Subaru, which is why she didn’t kill him when he entered the library.
In order to protect her pride as a spirit mage, she fabricated a dream world where she could defeat him instead. This is why he woke up in the morning still in the mansion with no memory of what happened until later that night when he went back into the library.
He had to face his greatest fear in order to wake up from this dream world Beatrice created for him.
What is “zero”?
In the Re:zero universe, “zero” refers to when someone dies and is brought back to life. When this happens, a person no longer has a sense of self or memory of their past life.
They also have a cursed eye that tells them when they will die and can no longer stay in that world. When this happens, they are pulled back to their original world and time, just before they died.
This curse can only be broken by finding someone who cares about you and believing in them. If you do, then you will regain your memory and self and stay in that world. However, if you do not find someone who cares about you before you die again, then you will be pulled back to your original world and time.
The harder it is to find someone who cares about you, the harder it is to break the curse of zero. However, there are some ways to prove someone cares about you without truly knowing them.
Why did they die?
It was revealed in the latest chapter that Felt, Ena, and Otto died because of Betelguese. When Subaru and Rem went to the world where they died, they saw them die at the hands of a monster.
Betelguese is a powerful demon that resides in the parallel world where Subaru and Rem lived in before moving to Kararufu. Betelguese rampaged through their town, killing many people including Felt, Ena, and Otto.
Subaru explained that when he went back in time he helped set up a barrier around the town which kept Betelguese out. By doing this, it prevented his friends from dying and allowed them to live happy lives.
What does Re:ZERO truly mean?
Re:Zero is the name of the game that this series is based on. The story of Re:Zero was written by Tanaka Bisco and then adapted into a manga with art by Daichi Matsuse.
Re:Zero is a fantasy psychological thriller anime based on the 2016 anime series, with additional content added. The story follows a young man named Natsuki Subaru who gets transported to an alternate universe where he takes on the role of adviser to the princess.

The main theme of Re:Zero is “to surpass one’s ordinary self”. This ties into Subaru’s character development, as he starts off as an average guy but eventually becomes a brave hero due to his encounters in this new world.
Who are the characters in Re:ZERO really?
In Re:Zero, there are certain characters that appear repeatedly throughout the story, and you get to know them pretty well. However, since this is a story where you go back in time at the cost of a few memories each time, none of them seem to remember you when you meet again.
Ram, for example, is one of the first NPCs you meet in the game and one of the first people who takes care of you. She has a big role in your early stay in Pack Village where she lives with her sister Pranee. You develop a close relationship with her and she cares deeply for you.
But when you rewind time and return to Pack Village, Ram is not even born yet! This means that none of the memories she has of taking care of Subaru are real. It is hard for her to trust someone so quickly after that due to past experiences, but she eventually does.
Other characters like Felix and Patrasche do not remember any encounters with Subaru either.
What are the true personalities of each character in Re:ZERO?
Another point of interest in the Re:Zero world is the revelation of each character’s true personality. Even if you don’t like someone in real life, you can still like their Re:Zero version.
Ram is one of the few characters with a constant personality throughout every route. In her own route, we get to see a sweeter side of her as she worries about Mama and Sister and even mentions wanting children of her own.
Another example is Subaru himself. In his original world, he was very confident and cocky, almost to a point of arrogance. In Re:Zero, we get to see this side of him again when he awakens his adventurer skills once again. He becomes very focused on what needs to be done and what the best course of action is.
